A story of homelessness. The author arrives back in New Zealand; her eldest son had been taken by his father and the author had no contact with her boy for more than 15 months. Later she was hospitalised again and finding accommodation for herself and her three children after her discharge was nigh impossible. The law didn’t prevent prospective landlords from discriminating against families. The author had a good income through teaching, but making a decent life for herself and her family was an uphill struggle.
